self-improvement
Friday, April 28

somebody really needs to eat humble pie and i feel like just stuffing it into his mouth, not just to humble him but at least to shut him up! he cant talk with his mouth full can he? if you're reading this, you know who you are cos you'll relate to the examples, but you are really getting on my nerves! not only is it your pride that's bothering me, but also your insensitivity, gloating about strange stuff and of course your strange acusations that people you-know-what. of course you have lots of good points too (otherwise i wouldnt have befriended you, would i?), but you need to improve on the following points to improve your character. so for you, i'm going to take up the time and space to write it on my blog.
---

cntd on 29 apr:
pride.
pride is one of your biggest downfall. you like to gloat and i think lots of people know that. in fact everyone gloats at one point or another but i think you do it too much. and sometimes your reason for gloating is very weird too! for example you were boasting about how lax the discipline in your class is, such that you guys can play com in class without anyone knowing. it is weird that you're boasting about that bcos you are in the class committee and you are a person responsible for stopping this. for me since i am in the class com and we manage to keep the class behaved, i am very pleased with the class com for we have done our job well. and that is not to be broken by mr sir who walked in and said that we were too quiet. i know this is besides the topic, but if mr sir's reading this then let me say sir, that i felt very insulted by that, cos its not like we're SUPPOSED to be misbehaving. i think the fact that we managed to make the class so quiet, such that you could hear a pin drop, is a good thing. so anyway if the class im responsible for is not behaving, then i would be ashamed of myself for not doing my duty!

your arrogance makes you people have the impression that you think youre best in everything. take for example yesterday after you finished your 2.4 and i met you on the track. yes you were first and you were happy about that. i felt happy for you too actually till you started intimidating by saying, "haha i beat you!". that puts people off. secondly, after that you asked what i got for sbj. when i told you my results you gave me the cold shoulder and said, "i hate you (as a passing remark), go away," waving me off, then turning to nicholas to ask him his results. i know you got 185 for your sbj, but that gives you no reason whatsoever so shrug me off just because i did well. lots of people in my class congratulated me about it and did show any trace of the attitude you had. moreover, some of them arent even as close to me as i am to you, and as a friend people would usually feel happy for the other, just like i did for your 2.4 position. this is partly due to insensitivity too, as you did not even think how i would have felt after seeing your reaction. just think about it, everybody likes to be commended for their achievements. it gives them reassurance that what they did was great, and it boost their self-esteem. if they had received what you did, they would feel saddened that someone was negatively affected cos of their proud achievement, and that's exactly how i felt. hasnt the message from many devotions got into your head once and for all? think before you speak. it doesnt only refer to arguments.

THE FALSE ACCUSATIONS.
if you do not remember, then let me remind you. there was a period of time (around the track meets) that you started concluding that certain people do something not very advisable. and what kind of theory did you have? the people that don't recoil when the topic pops up do so. i mean what kind of inference is that??? even i was included in ur list! how would you know that just bcos they dont say 'ewwwww' when the topic is brought up, they do so??? since you arent convinced when i tell you i don't, let me show you another example. joel ang pratically loves to talk about that subject. but does he do it? i dont think so! remember how he was so disgusted that some people do it? that's evidence! and remember how I was disgusted when you said you were going to use the product for your life science practical? isnt what has been mentioned alone enough to show you that i don't??? do you know how insulting it is when someone tells you, "i think you ________(the thing which is not very advisable)" and you actually don't? and that time it wasnt only me you said does it, but you even said nick ng and some other people do. i mean i don't know whether they actually do, but even so if they dont, dyu realise how they would feel? there isnt any theory as to what people might do, cos people might fake it. even jang might have been faking it on his blog, but it sounded genuine to me. if you have no basis, then dont say it!

living off others.
there was also another period when you kept borrowing my stuff. if you forgot to bring your pencil box or left some stationary at home then that's ok, but you had run out of correction tape and kept borrowing it from me for about 3 weeks! and you clearly had not refilled it. cos if you did, you would not have used up a whole new roll in a few days would you? so clearly you were not making any effort to remember to put in a new refill. also, when i lent you pens when you forget to bring yours, you complained that you dont like the type of pen and ask for another type. havent you heard that 'the beggar never complains'? what you receive is the best available and your lack of gratitude is not appropriate at all. people feel rejection. this actually doesnt only apply to you, but you are one of those and you should bear this in mind. at least it doesnt go so far as to making me tell you answers...thank goodness you dont do that. some people actually do that and its like they're leeching onto me.

and so i've come to the end of the list of bad points. dont take this as criticism but more as something that tells you where you can improve on yourself. the main character which covers most of the points is sensitivity. without this it is hard to correct yourself. what you also need to remember is that not everyone thinks like you do, and might not react like you do. use whatever you know about their personality to guess how they might feel when you say/do anything. and this doesnt just apply to the person who im getting my examples from but lots of people out there. learn from your past mistakes. bear the thought in mind. but i have faith that you (the person concerned in this post) will strive for the best, to improve yourself, just as you do for your studies.

Yours truly,
Clement.
